The Department of Chemistry and Fermentation Sciences is housed in Garwood Hall. It's one of the newer buildings on the Appalachian campus and is also home to the Physics and Astronomy Department.
Laboratories in the A.R. Smith Department of Chemistry and Fermentation Sciences are equipped with modern instrumentation which is used regularly by faculty and students.
