University Scholarships
App State is committed to affordability for all students. Each year, the University awards an average of $25 million to students based on need, as well as academic and athletic achievement. On average, about $4.9 million in outside aid is awarded to App State students annually. Continuing Students
The Appalachian Scholarship Application Portal (ASAP) is your best source to apply for a variety of university and academic college scholarships. ASAP is open December 1 through February 7.
Incoming Students
Apply for scholarships in MyMountaineer Portal.
Transfer Student Application: Open January 15 through March 1
First-Year Student Application: Open August 1 through November 15

External Scholarships
The Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation was established by Congress in 1986 to serve as a living memorial to honor the lifetime work of Senator Barry Goldwater, who served his country for 56 years as a soldier and statesman, including 30 years in the U.S. Senate. By providing scholarships to college sophomores and juniors who intend to pursue research careers in the natural sciences, mathematics and engineering, the Goldwater Foundation is helping ensure that the U.S. is producing the number of highly-qualified professionals the Nation needs in these critical fields.
